Coarse grid simulations of Geldart A particles in bubbling fluidized beds using standard two-fluid (TF) models, where the constitutive laws are based on the homogeneity of sub-grid scale structures, have been demonstrated to be unsuccessful due to the existence of significant sub-grid scale heterogeneous structures. However, a definite consensus on the fundamental origin of the failure is still lacking. Some claim that the existence of significant inter-particle cohesive forces results in the sub-grid scale heterogeneous structures which takes the form of agglomerates or clusters; others claim that the inter-particle cohesive forces are not the dominant factor, and that the poor performance of TF models is primarily due to the fact that the grid sizes and the time step used in previous studies are too coarse to fully resolve the bubbling structure. To this end, a short overview is firstly presented to discuss the role of scale resolution and inter-particle cohesive force in two-fluid modeling of Geldart A particles; We then qualitatively explain, using a state-of-the-art discrete particle method, why the methods based on the existence of aggregates or clusters work quite well, although the sub-grid scale structure is not properly identified, that is, the sub-grid scale structure takes the form of a bubble-emulsion phase. 相似文献

Chirality can emerge spontaneously from racemizing samples in a remarkably efficient manner. The effect results from the stochastic generation of an excess of one enantiomer in the solid and subsequent amplification of the initial material to the bulk. In this review we shall give examples showing how this effect has proved to be an inspiration for the emergence of chirality from chiral materials, and even for the preparation of pharmaceutically important intermediates. While spontaneous deracemization should produce either enantiomer randomly, the kind of system that demonstrates the phenomenon is very prone to the induction of one handedness with extremely small quantities of chiral inducer, which makes the process exploitable in certain cases. This kind of deracemization is the epitome of the origin, transfer and amplification of chirality. 相似文献

In order to realize a small linewidth two-dimensional direct laser lithographic technique with enhanced resolution, we propose two apparatuses. The first one uses a polarizing beam splitter to separate a source beam into two output beams, and these two beams overlap on the focal point and make a narrow interferogram that sharpens the focused beam spot. The direction of the sharpened beam spot is controlled by a tilting mirror. This scheme is fast and easy to align. However, one serious problem, the interferogram shifting phenomenon, was observed during a long term fabrication. To obtain long term stability, we propose the second scheme that employs a calcite wave plate module attached to a motorized rotary motor. Why the two-fluid model fails to predict the bed expansion characteristics of Geldart A particles in gas-fluidized beds: A tentative answer 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
It is well known that two-fluid models (TFMs) can successfully predict the hydrodynamics of Geldart B and D particles. However, up to now, TFM have failed to accurately describe the hydrodynamics of Geldart A particles inside bubbling gas-fluidized beds: Researchers have reported that bed expansions are over-predicted by as much as 70%. In this work we show—for the first time—that TFM can predict the correct bed expansion, without any artificial modifications, provided that a sufficiently fine grid size and small time step is used. This suggests that the previously reported failure of TFM is mainly due to the lack of scale resolution, and that from a modeling point of view there is no fundamental difference between Geldart A particles and Geldart B and D particles. 相似文献

用FTIR,^1HNMR等手段剖析氨基硅油SF-5的基本结构,阐述氨基硅对纸页超级柔软的机理,由于氨基硅油的引入,纸页白度、强度、吸水性下降;探讨了纸页获得综合性能的有效方法。FTIR,^1HNMR谱显示SF-5氮基硅油基本结构为N-β-氨乙基-γ氨丙基聚二甲基硅氧烷,当增强剂SAM用量(浆内添加)5wt‰时,氨基硅油总量为2wt‰,其中SF-5与SF-4的重量百分比为25:75(wt%),聚硅油用量为0.5wt‰(复配后表面喷雾),纸页可在强度、白度、吸水性等性能基本满足的前提下,获得超级柔软的效果。 相似文献
